Spoon Amuse-Bouche Appetizers

Ingredients

  • 1 package of frozen puff pastry, thawed
  • 1/2 cup of caramelized onions
  • 1/2 cup of crumbled blue cheese
  • 1/4 cup of chopped fresh chives
  • 1/4 cup of chopped walnuts
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil

Preparation

  1. Step 1: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper
  2. Step 2: Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface to a thickness of about 1/8 inch
  3. Step 3: Cut out small squares of pastry, about 3 inches (7.5 cm) per side
  4. Step 4: Spoon a small amount of caramelized onions onto one half of each square, leaving a 1/2 inch border around the edges
  5. Step 5: Top the onions with a sprinkle of crumbled blue cheese, a few chopped chives, and a piece of walnut
  6. Step 6: Fold the other half of the pastry square over the filling to form a triangle or a square shape, pressing the edges to seal
  7. Step 7: Brush the tops of the pastry with olive oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper
  8. Step 8: Place the amuse-bouche on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown
  9. Step 9: Serve warm and enjoy!

Chef’s Tip: To ensure that your amuse-bouche are evenly baked, make sure to leave enough space between each one on the baking sheet. You can also prepare the filling and pastry ahead of time and assemble just before baking.
