Ingredients
- 500g minced beef
- 1 large onion
- 2 cloves of garlic
- 1 carrot
- 1 can of diced tomatoes
- 1 tablespoon tomato paste
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 400g spaghetti
- 1 cup grated parmesan cheese
- fresh parsley chopped
Preparation
- Step 1: Finely chop the onion, garlic, and carrot
- Step 2: Heat the olive oil in a large saucepan over medium heat
- Step 3: Add the chopped onion, garlic, and carrot to the saucepan and cook until the vegetables are softened
- Step 4: Add the minced beef to the saucepan, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks
- Step 5: Once the beef is browned, add the tomato paste, dried basil, and dried oregano to the saucepan and stir to combine
- Step 6: Add the diced tomatoes to the saucepan and stir to combine, then reduce heat to low and simmer for 20 minutes
- Step 7: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente
- Step 8: Drain the spaghetti and add it to the bolognaise sauce, tossing to combine
- Step 9: Season the spaghetti with salt and pepper to taste, then serve hot topped with grated parmesan cheese and chopped parsley
